Anna Silk is a Fredericton native, the daughter Peter Silk, who was an academic. Her mother, Ilkay Silk, had a diverse range of abilities, which included the ability perform, direct and produce plays, as well as write them teaching, as well as be the Director of Drama at St. Thomas University. Her father is from Britain as does her mother, who is an "Turkish ex-pat from Cyprus who is now living in England." Anna's earliest memories involve attending rehearsals for plays and watching her mother's work. As a child, she appeared in several commercials.
