April Ross
April Ross is one of the few female beach volleyball players to capture medals at multiple Olympics. Alix-Klineman will be competing with Ross at Tokyo for her third gold in the next few days. Ross's aim is to get her first Olympic Gold. There is a chance that she has one opportunity, given that she is 39 years old. However, she is certain of taking top honors. Ross said on NBC Boston that if they are at their absolute best or even a good game and they are able to play well, the team can win a gold medal. Also, I am going put my faith in a touch of good luck. Ross was born in 1982, and grew up within Costa Mesa California with her siblings and parents, started playing the sports of Newport Harbor High school. Ross played in numerous sports while attending Newport Harbor High School. Being a pre-athlete, she also played indoor volleyball and track. She was definitely a cut above the rest in the latter sport. In her time at high school, she played middle blocker outside hitter and setter on the volleyball court per her bio at the college. She was awarded one of the Gatorade National Circle of Champions Player of the Year in 1999 for her achievements. She also captured the award in 2000. Orange County Athlete of the Award for volleyball. Ross and Klineman started their relationship in 2017 However, Ross was a beach scene player for years prior to. She has won major events twice, with various partners. One of them has become an icon in the volleyball world. In the period 2007 until 2013, she was a team alongside Jennifer Kessy who more recently played the role of Klineman's coach. Ross, Kessy's fellow teammate who won the world title with Kessy in 2009, also was significant on the world stage. In 2012, the duo were awarded silver medals at the London Olympic Games. They were defeated for the gold medal by the legendary team comprised of Misty May-Treanor as well as Kerri Walsh (Jennings). Ross Jennings took over for May-Treanor after she retired. They took home the bronze medal in beach volleyball during the Rio Olympics 2016. Ross participated in the USC Trojans in college years after she graduated the high school she attended. Her career was a success through the NCAA tournament. In her first year at the school, 2000 earned her the Pac-10 and NCAA Freshman's of the award and become an All-American. The team also saw her help in helping the Trojans reach their first Final Four. She suffered a devastating personal loss during her sophomore year however she was able to return as an All-American. In her last two seasons as a member of the Trojans' program the team was led to success by winning two consecutive national championships. Ross was an excellent volleyball player, winning the Honda Sports Award in 2003-04 as the most outstanding female volleyball player at the college level. Ross was an USC international relations student, was a volleyball star. Margie Ross did not see her daughter achieve the heights in beach volleyball. Ross's mom died from cancer of the breast in the year 2001. Ross had just become a second-year student at USC. She still holds her mother very dearly. Margie is a beach lover and in daily life, continues to inspire her.
